MANKIND & COVID-19 Policy

Following the advent of COVID-19 and its subsequent lockdown, considerations and changes at MANKIND have had to be implemented to ensure therapist and client safety following a risk assessment. Now that we are able to operate again, please take not of the following changes and check the latest BLOG information before you book your treatment...

BEFORE YOUR MASSAGE

  • Check here for new potential contra-indications - GP referral may be required.

  • Booking a massage treatment will happen in the same way; via MANKIND website, email or telephone.

  • Before you leave your home, if you are able please check your temperature, and consider if you are experiencing any Covid-19 symptoms. If yes to any of those questions, please postpone or cancel your appointment.

  • Pre-treatment consultations will take place via phone/video call a day or two before your appointment. Your therapist will arrange a mutually convenient time for this.

PLEASE NOTE: Consultations will include a consent section regarding exposure to Covid-19. If you wish to see a copy of this consultation form, please contact your therapist who will be happy to email a copy. You may sign this before your appointment and bring on the day. Please bring your own pen if you need one.

  • If you are considered a high-risk client, it may not be possible to massage you at this time. A list will shortly be available on the Covid-19 Policy page.

  • Please bring you own water - so we do not use any glassware.

ARRVING FOR YOUR MASSAGE

  • Please leave any coats and bags in your car out of sight (if driving)

  • Please wear easy to remove clothing and avoid wearing jewellery, as this make the process simpler.

  • When you arrive, you will be required to take off your shoes, wash or sanitise your hands - bathroom facilities will be available. Your therapist will then take your temperature as well as their own.

  • You will then be invited to the treatment room, try to avoid touching anything. The massage table will have been thoroughly disinfected and all linens are clean - you will be encouraged to wear a facemask. If you do not have your own, one will be provided.

  • Your therapist will be using PPE, until the requirement relaxes. This information is likely to change as the situation regarding use of PPE is fluid.

AFTER YOUR MASSAGE

  • When the massage is over, please leave all linens, towels and mask on the table - unless the mask is your own. Put your clothes back on and exit again without touching anything. You may use the bathroom and wash your hands before you put your shoes back on.

  • Payment can be made by card or Direct Transfer. If you are only able to pay with cash, an envelope will be provided.

  • There will be an approximate 60-minute gap between clients, to enable the disinfection of the therapy room, table and equipment, bathroom etc, with enough time to dry and take effect.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AROUND THESE CHANGES AND BE ASSURED THESE ARE ONLY TEMPORARY MEASURES. THEY WILL NOT IMPINGE ON THE QUALITY OF YOUR MASSAGE.
